The third race of the Club Championships happened on 26th Jan at Point Walter for All Bar None’s traditional Australia Day Triathlon.
A great turn out for FTC saw athletes in almost all races and many took podium honours – but how does this effect the club champs?
Janne Liebmann took a second in her category to close the gap at the top of the field and the top of the Female Open cat which is currently led by Michelle Carranza – a battle which could go all the way to Busso.
In the Male open Kieran Birch has a decent lead over Blair McFadden after a third place at the weekend (and third overall!!) Sjoerd and Tully are following closely behind along with Alex Davison.
The Male Masters is an open race. Guy Crawford leads currently from his one race in Mandurah. Alisdair McLaren and Tim Howely are 10 points behind. This race looks to heat up as we start to see more longer course races on the calendar.
Finally, the Female Masters. Sheery Coons-Mueller had another Category win, to make it two from two and takes a five point lead over Liz Neville and another 5 over Kate Bevilaqua.
Our next race is the sold out Foreshore Triathlon (31st Jan) before Bunbury (7th Feb), Karri Valley (13th Mar), Coastal Quest (28th Mar), Coogee (28th Mar) and then the Finale in Busselton.
