TRIATHLON AUSTRALIA INSURANCE SUMMARY

In place for TA Members:

§ Public Liability insurance (in circumstances where subsequent to a “negligent act” they become legally liable to pay compensation for personal Injury (of the other people), property damage (of other people’s property), advertising liability, legal costs and charges).

§ Accident/Injury insurance (whilst training for or competing in an officially sanctioned event organised by and under the control of the Insured including direct travel to and from sanctioned competitions, training venues and Insured person’s place of residence. Cover does not extend to include training/participation in non-triathlon sporting events, fun runs and competitions).

§ Travel insurance (subject to TA authorisation) – Optional policy only available to TA members

§ World Wide Bicycle cover – Optional policy only available to TA members

In place for TA affiliated triathlon clubs:

§ Public Liability insurance

§ Accident/Injury insurance (whilst working on behalf of the Insured including direct travel to and from sanctioned competitions, training venues and person’s place of residence.)

§ Directors & Officers Indemnity – Optional policy (“Wrongful Act” committed whilst acting as Director or Officer: i.e. Breach of Trust, Neglect, Error, Misstatement, Misleading Statement, Omission or Breach of Authority).

§ World Wide Excluding USA & Canada

§ Solo/Private Training (must be logged, documented and or supervised to be recognised)

Note: You are not covered for public liability or accident/injury as an athlete unless you are a TA member, even if you are a member of a TA affiliated triathlon club insured with TA. Your TA club insurance covers the club (and members) for Public/Products Liability and club members carrying out activities on behalf of your club are covered for accident/injury.
